Vicenza Vin Mousseux Método Charmat NV A bubbles made from Airen and Verdejo, both natives of Spain but not traditionally used together in this way. The Airen brings the dry citrus notes and the Verdejo a more aromatic and herbal complexity to the blend. Shimmery pale yellow in the glass, its medium bodied and slightly off dry on the palate making it the perfect choice as a match with dessert or to freshen up as a digestif after dinner.

Villa de Adnos Bobal Utiel Requena DO Rosado 2019 A lively pale pink, with flashes of deeper pink in the glass. Raspberry and cherry greet the nose with hints of roses and cloves. Cherry and raspberry sweetness is balanced with good acidity to produce a refreshing mouthfeel and lingering finish.

Fuego Verdejo 2019 Crisp, fresh and unoaked Verdejo from La Mancha, Spain. A little background on Verdejo; it’s the most planted grape in the region Rueda ( its Spanish home ), it can be blended with a number of other grapes, or made in a single varietal style like we have here. Other regions have tried to plant it (including Aussie and California) but it does best in Spain, thriving in a dry and continental climate. This one in particular is a burst of citrus, mouth-watering lime peel, grapefruit and lemon alongside aromats like fennel and grass (there’s your Marlborough Sauv!). Requevin Tempranillo Tinto DO 2017 This big blend of Bobal and Tempranillo from Utiel-Requena on Spain’s east coast is a great go to wine when you’re not sure what’s for dinner, or where the night may take you. Its full bodied and fruity, spicy and just a tad smoky.

Caballo de Oro Valdepenas DOP Reserva 2012 It comes from Valdepenas - a wine region that’s 700 metres above sea level in La Mancha – Spain’s biggest wine region, situated south of Madrid. This is a hot area so the altitude of the vineyards provides cool nights to retain fresh qualities in the wines. Unlike its nearby neighbours, this area is all about quality over quantity. And that stands out loud and clear in this lively Tempranillo (known in this region as Cencibel).

Vina Decana Utiel-Requena DO Reserva 2015 Deeply coloured, the wine is intensely aromatic with dark cherries, black Doris plums, and strawberry leaping out of the glass. There is a pleasant amount of toasty spice characters from the oak aging and a touch of lavender as well. Lush and robust on the palate, with a long and persistent finish, this wine over-delivers for its price point.
