Have you tried Carmenere yet? If not, this is a great place to start. From Chile, the home of Carmenere comes this deep, dark purple hued expression from Concha Y Toro, one of Latin Americans largest wine producers. Carmenere, interestingly also a part of Bordeaux blends when needed, is late ripening and needs long, warm summers to allow its flavour to shine. This one is full of dark blackcurrants, forest fruits and dark chocolate with subtle herbal notes similar to Cab Sauv. Try with grilled lamb, pasta, or some hard, well ripened cheeses. - 16/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel (2019 vintage)
Deep, dark purple in the glass. The palate is rich with dark plum, black currant, and chocolate aromas. Notes of dark plums and spice emerge, generously framed by toasty American oak with a soft and well-structured mouth-filling texture.
