"Looking for a Bordeaux with a bit of body but without the price tag? Chateau Fourreau ticks both boxes and we think once you try it, you’ll be back for more. The chateau itself is perched on a hill in the middle of Bordeaux and the surrounding vineyards are home to the typical grapes of the region, Cabernet Sauv and Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Sauvignon and Semillon. The 2017 is drinking well now , its tannins are smooth and the notes of cassis and red cherry are supported by a cinnamon and vanilla backbone that carries through to the finish." - 17/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel

The 27 hectare property was bought by the Barse family in 1956 and taken over in 1998 by Marie-Hélène Barse and Frédérick Bozza. Château Fourreau is perched on a clay-limestone hillside dotted with slabs of rocks facing the town of Pujols. The wines that they produce are made from noble Bordeaux grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec for the red ands Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon for the whites).
